Acrylic table lamps: Fresh and funky for 2018

How about a funky, fresh and modern look for the new year? We’ve introduced a new range of acrylic table lamps for those who want something a little bit brave, bold and colourful in 2018…

Acrylic has been coming back in a big way recently, with designers embracing the versality of the material for furniture, and cool, curvy storage units, transparent tables and ghost chairs popping up in all the style magazines. We’ve made our own contribution to this mini style wave in the delectable forms of the Disco, Longford and Mistra table lamps. They’re three different approaches which show what a fine, flexible material acrylic can be. Here’s a bit more about each of them…

Disco – funky and fun

The Disco is actually a fairly traditional column table lamp shape, but the polished acrylic material allows us to do all sorts of fun and funky things with it. We’ve cast the Disco in three different colour combinations. Above is the ‘Blood’ version - a red stand holding a clear column, which has a great Pop Art-y sort of feel. The quirky ‘Tricolore’ edition has a clear stand, red column and a dash of blue at the top.

And lastly we’ve an Olive variety which works beautifully with a tall tapered silk shade in Jade

Longford – bold take on a classical brass column

The Longford is a Classical Modernist table lamp - and if that wasn’t a thing before, it is now. It’s an ornate brass column in the classical style, but modernised with a striking, colourful acrylic shaft. We like the Blood Red version with a classy black card straight empire shade (above), while the Olive version is great with one of our tall tapered shade in acid yellow jute.

Mistra – art deco elegance

Finally, we think this one is a smasher. The Mistra is clear acrylic and brass turned into an art deco mini-masterpiece. It’s all edges and curves and style – pair it with a straight empire shade in Jersey parchment and you’ve got the Audrey Hepburn of table lamps.
