bedside wall lights for beautiful bedrooms

No matter the style or décor in your bedroom, you can add symmetry, style and atmosphere with a bedside wall light placed on either side of the bed. Before you choose your new lights, it's worth knowing which different types we offer:

Articulated wall lights – curved, pointed and perfect for reading

Plug-in bedside lights – wall-mounted fittings without the need for wiring

Switched wall lights – bedside lighting at your fingertips

Wall fittings – so that you can personalise with a shade

why choose contemporary wall-mounted bedside lamps?

Compared to a large table lamp or a traditional ceiling light, wall lamps for the bedroom offer a gentler option for illuminating the room–and they can make for a charming design feature, too.

When you choose a spotlight for your bedroom wall light, you can create clean accent lighting. Whether you draw attention to soft velour cushions on the duvet or a cosy reading nook by the bedside, bed wall lighting can be used to create an array of striking effects. Contrasting shadows with their soft ambient glow is one way to get the mood lighting just right.

How to position bedside wall lamps

When you're thinking about installing bedroom wall lamps, there are a few things to bear in mind. One of the most important is the height of your lights: if they're too low, they might not provide enough light; if they're too high, you might not be able to reach them from the bed.

In general, we recommend positioning your bedroom wall lamps between five and five-and-a-half feet above the floor. Try to make sure that the top of each light sits at around shoulder-level if you're placing them either side of the bed.

You could also think about layering your bedroom lighting. This technique involves using more than one light source within a space to create an atmospheric, textured effect. As an example, our brassy, bendy Limber wall light looks wonderful when paired with a bedside table lamp.

choosing your bedroom wall light

Lighting the bedroom with stylish, tasteful bedside lights and wall fittings will help you to create a warm, welcoming space. Choosing the right piece involves thinking about the style – from contemporary to traditional wall lights – along with making sure that it serves the right purpose.

Whether you plan to layer yours with a small table lamp or use it as a standalone feature, we're here to help you to create a bespoke interior. Head over to the Pooky Instagram for home inspiration and tips from top interior designers.
