Interiors inspiration: table lamps styled by the experts

Looking for inspiration? Here’s how some more of the UK’s top contemporary interior designers and home stylists are using Pooky’s table lamps...

We do love seeing Pooky lights in situ, and the wonders of Instagram and Twitter make it ridiculously easy for to peek inside people’s homes like the lamp-loving nosey-parkers we are. So please do share your pics with us (see below for some easy ways). And to inspire you in the meantime, here’s another post showing ways that top interior designers and home stylists have been using Pooky table lamps in their rooms…

Sarah Akwisombe - Isolde in the hall

Sarah Akwisombe is a gloriously fearless and original stylist (we profiled her here), so it’s only fitting that she should go for one of our ‘bravest’ table lamps, the art deco-inspired Isolde.

With the large drum shade it looks fabulous against the olive green walls. And note the exceedingly clever way Sarah has matched Isolde’s stylised female form with that semi-abstract framed print. What an eye she has!

Siobhan Hayles - paired lamps to divide a room

We recently discovered the south west-based designer Siobhan Hayles’ portfolio and we were deeply impressed by the variety of her work, and by her use of bold colours and layers upon layers of light and texture.

In these Instagram snaps for a Cornish holiday cottage we love the way Siobhan has employed a pair of our Trixie glass table lamps with large black and white empire zig zag ikat lampshades so that they form a centrepiece to the long room, and divide it into the seating and dining areas. Brilliant!

Rebecca Hughes - a modernist crescent

The Crescent is one of our more uncategorisable table lamps (it's made of inverted marble crescents on a brass column) and it pops up in all sorts of different interior schemes. We think this use of it in a smart, contemporary apartment on a desk is brilliant.

We’re getting hints of mid-century modern here – and it’s wonderfully original. Actually, if you peek around Rebecca Hughes’ marvellous portfolio you’ll spot plenty of Pooky lights and shades in various different settings. And we have to mention this shot of our Wexford table lamp looking very smart on a side-table against some splendid wallpaper…

Finally, something slightly different: the Farrow & Ball showroom in Winchester. This is our Verona table lamp, painted in Inchyra Blue (voted the store’s favourite colour) – and styled by the rightly-acclaimed textile designer and all-round style guru Kate Forman.

You can see more brilliant uses of table lamps by top designers here – and we’ll be featuring more like this on our blog in the coming weeks.

But we’d also love to see your own pics of Pooky lamps at home, so that we can all inspire each other. Share your pics on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
