Simple really - a prismatic glass dome with a classy brass gallery (that's what we call them in the lighting biz) on the top. The glass is lovely, blown glass and the gallery is solid brass and, in design, slightly flatter and thus more elegant than others you might see. The prismatic glass casts a subtle dappled light and the pattern on the glass gives gentle texture.
