If you want to change the direction your fitting points, just loosen the nut on the back of the back plate, swivel the arm, then tighten again.

We spend hours messing around with lampshades, trying all sorts of new and wondrous materials to see how they transmit light through them. And in our opinion, there isn't much that beats a humble rattan lampshade for casting a beguiling glow. The light pools warmly beneath but it also sneaks out gently through the little gaps in the weave. Beautiful it is, we thinks.
